The Battle Isn’t Yours

He said, “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you; ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15

As I said in my recent video “the vast army” that your up against can be a multitude of circumstances. Divorce, separation, job loss, cancer, (any sickness) anxiety, depression, panic attacks, loss of a loved one or any negative emotion that you are facing. Whatever battle you are in right now replace the words “vast army” and insert your battle.

What’s my battle right now? The anxiety of not knowing what our future holds with this covid-19. Will Jesus come and takes us out of this world as scripture talks about, we Christians believe will happen called the rapture. And what does that even look like? Will we go through some of the seven year tribulation? So many what ifs, that He told me, change your thoughts and your focus.

I mentioned a very courageous lady who was faced with an unimaginable battle. Katherine Wolf, watch her story here:

Another courageous woman of God is Joni Eareckson Tada:

Both of these Godly, courageous woman faced unimaginable battles. Both have gone on to create ministries to help the disabled-part of the good that God promises to bring out of a horrible situation. Another more recent situation, is of my sister’s best friend. Chelsey’s 22 year old niece Katie passed away, weeks after giving birth to her first child.

There are numerous people who have or are being faced with difficulties that none of us ever want to be faced with. I don’t understand why these things happen but God sees the bigger picture. He knows why He allows these situations to happen and is hoping we will follow His will through it.

All I know is that when I start going down the road to my “battle” I am reminded of all the Katherine Wolf’s, Joni’s and Kate Cardinal’s of this world. Suddenly my battle doesn’t look or seem as big. That is another part of the “good” from a horrible situation. It’s to help me see that some are fighting huge battles and mine becomes small.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

As Joni Eareckson Tada says this doesn’t mean being thankful for the battle, but look around and give thanks during the battle. Start small, that you can see, breath, walk, talk, think, and hear. Then go further and look at all the blessings around you and give thanks.

All I know is that through my personal experience is that true healing comes only from God through Jesus Christ. In His time and in His way, put your trust in Him by fully surrendering your life to Him. Then allow Him to fight your battles.
